Logo/ font ideas
To begin with, me and Lizzie started to look at different fonts from different websites and programmes, e.g. photoshop, powerpoint and Dafont.com. Most of our fonts that we liked (shown above) are from Dafont.com. We found that these looked more professional, in addition I preferred them to other fonts we have previously looked at. However we have turned these fonts down, this is because we didn't feel as if they suited the name or the branding of our record label (and artists). Our record logo name; G&L RECORDS, represents the G for my name (Georgina) and the L for my media partners name (Lizzie). At first we wanted to call our record label GWL Recordings, this was due to both me and Lizzie's last names beginning with W, however we felt like G&L Records sounds better and more professional.
Our logo and institutional research has helped us a lot when it came to creating our logo. I wanted to make a logo to represent a record label for our artists e.g. to include on our digi pack. Furthermore, me and Lizzie also tried using these fonts with other images/ shapes to create an official logo, however not all of them worked out/ we liked.
All of the logo's above we have rejected/ not used. Personally, I do not feel like these logos give off a professional feel, in addition the fonts and dark colours do not necessarily suit our target audience.
Many of these logo's have been made on powerpoint and photoshop using the fonts from Dafont. Even though these are just ideas/ examples of me and Lizzie practising our logo ideas, I don't feel they suit our record label name, artists etc. On the other hand, me and Lizzie have found a really good font for our logo and an image/ illustration idea.
