Digi Pack Drafts

Front cover (Album)
After researching into real examples of album covers, me and Lizzie created a first draft of our main ideas for our own cd cover. We have presented the group name: True Blue at the top of the page in the biggest font. This is so that the artists stand out the most, this has been commonly used within artist CD's such as BeyoncĂ© and Lana Del Rey. When we create the cover we will use different fonts for the album name and the artist name, this is too show the difference between the two and make it clear to the audience who the artists are. We are also thinking of having the album name 'Confident' underneath the artist name in smaller writing, this has been used in artists CD's such as Marina And The Diamonds and Demi Lovato. The colour scheme for this cover may be red, white and blue's, this is because it will match our props and costume already chosen but also the on-going American theme. In addition these artists have used one main image to cover the page of the album cover. We are going to be taking group shots of our True Blue on filming days, we will try this with different props, costume and in different locations, to ensure we have the best photo for our cover.  Overall I think the front cover draft looks effective and professional, this will help me/ us when we have to officially create the digi pack. Our album cover is also suitable for our target audience e.g. it is bold and represents a young/ more female concept.

Back Cover (Album)
Secondly, we have created an album back cover draft. We have developed our ideas from artists such as Marina And The Diamonds, Little Mix and Fifth Harmony. We want our song names to be clear and bold, therefore when choosing a colour scheme for our digi pack we will make sure the colour of the font is bold. Me and Lizzie are going to carry on the colour theme from the front cover to the back cover for example using reds, blues and whites (representing the American flag). I think this will look really effective due to them being very bold and eye-catching colours. Furthermore, I did not particularly like the album backs with images of artists on (from my research), therefore we are going to use one main, bold colour to fill the background of the cover similar to the likes of Marina And The Diamonds and Ariana Grande. I feel like the colours and the boldness of our ideas/ drafts are not only going to match our target audience (teenagers), but also the artists personality. I really like the idea of music having a specific message, therefore we are trying to show this through different editing techniques and themes in our digi pack. The bold colours represents our artists as outgoing and not afraid to speak there mind, this also links with our chosen song, because the narrative discusses being confident and having independence which is the main message we wanted to portray (which is also the reason for our album name). In addition we will be including our own personalised logo/ record company information and barcode at the bottom of the page, this is used in all artist albums.

Tour Poster

We have also created a draft for our tour poster. The colours we are thinking of using are similar to our album cover and back, we have done this to make it clear to our target audience the theme of the album and the tour. After researching into other tour posters, it was clear that conventions such as a larger artist name and a smaller tour title was used, therefore we have presented this in our tour poster draft. The image on the poster is going to be of the music group (True Blue) which will cover most of the page, however this may mean we have to change some ideas for the poster to make sure that the image is clear.

On the other hand, we have also broke conventions of tour posters, for example the tour dates/ locations. Many girl group posters and artists use a list of tour dates and locations, however we felt as if there would be no room for this on our poster therefore we used a similar idea to Beyonce's world wide tour and presented 3 of the biggest/ well known venue for tour dates, this shows that our artists are important and popular because they are able to perform at these locations. In addition we would like to add an information box at the bottom of the page, this will include a website name/ where you can purchase tickets and when they will be released. This means that the target audience/ fans of the group will have easy access to other tour dates and names and extra information that they need.

Furthermore, we have included two small boxes close to the artist name. These include a 'With Special Guest' hinting that there will be a support act at the tour and an image of the album cover (with some additional information e.g. prices). This has been used in tour posters such as Taylor Swifts and Fifth Harmony. I think that this tour poster draft is really effective because it has lots of information on the group/ tour and is another way of advertising our artist.
