Music Video Feedback

Me and Lizzie have done some audience feedback research to discover what other people thought of our video and ancillary products and how we can improve them therefore we have shown our video and digi pack to numerous class mates, friends, family, teachers etc. When we did this, we also asked them to fill out a questionnaire about our video and digi pack.

Results from feedback (Music Video)
We made this an open questionnaire instead of giving answers/ check lists, this was to see what people truly thought of the video, however we have generalised them into pie charts as well.
Firstly we asked our audience what you liked the most about our video, the most popular answers were lighting, the range of shots and editing, however dancing, miming and mise en scene was also rated highly, people often commented on the amount of cuts and the fast pace of the video which is something we wanted our video to be.

Secondly, we asked our audience what they thought our target audience is, for this we did not give any options for, this was to truly see whether or not we had meet the needs of our target audience we set at the start of the course. Most people suggested a target audience on an average 13- 24 which is what we aimed for, however some people suggested a smaller gap between the ages e.g. 12 to 17 instead of 13 to 24. But me and Lizzie feel as if more older teens/ early adults would still be able to enjoy our artists and our music video.

We also wanted to see what people didn't like about our video, this is so that we can improve on certain areas. Most people suggested the quality of our video could have been better, this is one of the main issues that me and Lizzie have already noticed, this is due to the dark lighting we have included in the video, however we wanted to have dark lighting and flashing colours/ lights to add to the boldness and effect of the video, it also helps other areas stand out more for example props, costume (mise en scene). But, some shots could be better quality and is something we can improve on using different editing tools. Also after re-watching our music video, me and Lizzie (and our audience) have noticed some of the miming is out of sync which is something we are going to change.

Most people replied yes to our video including a wide range of props and costume changes, it is something that most people that have watched our video usually comment on, me and Lizzie have worked extremely hard in trying to create a bold and fun look for our artists. We researched a lot into different colour themes and what other artists have previously worn especially Fifth Harmony e.g. we have incorporated white outfits, bright outfits and the ongoing theme of red white in blue throughout all of our products.

Most of our audience commented well on the acting and miming throughout the video, they suggested that the girls look very professional and show key characteristics of a real artist. However as stated in the question about what people dislike, many commented on some miming scenes being out of sync which is something we are going to change.

Most people replied yes to this question, many have commented on the different transitions e.g. wipes and effects we have used such as picture in a picture/ dissolving effects.

Almost every person commented yes in reply to the pace/ speed of cuts matching the song, me and Lizzie have included over 127 cuts in our music video and is something we have worked really hard on to produce a good video.

Most people commented on the wide range of shots, angles etc used in our video, we have used long shots, group shots, individual shots, 2 and 3 person shots, extreme close up's, mid shots, extreme long shots and many more shots from high and low and tilted angles. Our audience stated that the large range of shots make the video stand out and eye catching because it always changing and doesn't get boring during the video.
Most people stated that the shots are clear and effective when relating to lighting, however as suggested in other questions from our feedback, some stated that the quality could be better which is something we will try to improve.

Results from feedback (Digi Pack)

It is clear from our digi pack feedback that people liked our products and how they looked together, people stated that their is a very clear theme between all the products which is what we intended for example we have used a red, white and blue theme to represent America and the narrative of the song. We also used similar props for example the confident sign is used in the album cover and the music video. In addition we used the same image from the tour poster on the album back but as a bold/ figure image.

In addition to our questionnaire, I have also uploaded our video to YouTube where people can write comments on the video which have also helped us with our feedback/ improvements.
