For mine and Lizzie's audience feedback we used a variety of different methods; a questionnaire to a wide range of audience (including our target audience), we uploaded our video to Youtube and Facebook and also recorded some of our class members watching the video, these individuals are also within our specified target audience . I think that our wide range of audience feedback has really helped us change aspects of our video to improve it and also helped us learn what is good about it and how much it appeals to our targeted audience.
Questionnaire
Firstly we created a questionnaire asking questions such as what do you like about the video, what would you change etc. Our feedback from this really helped us improve areas such as the lip syncing, quality and speed of the video. After we had our feedback some people pointed out a few areas of the video that were not in sync, this is something I didn't realise before and therefore the feedback helped us change this to match the shots with the music. People also commented on the quality/ lighting in some areas of our video, after this we changed some of the effects on certain shots that appeared to dark/ not very clear. Our feedback from the questionnaire's also helped us realise the good areas of our video such as the costume, prop and makeup used and the variety of shots and transitions i.e. extreme close-ups, group shots, focus pulls etc.
We used our feedback methods on a wide range of audiences such as; male, female, teenagers and adults to see what different ages and genders think about the video, it was clear that our chosen target audience we used during our coursework process (13-24 year olds, female) enjoyed our video and liked many aspects of it. Other audiences such as males and older adults viewed it differently, for example when showing it too a teenage males, it was stated that the video was at a really good standard however it was not necessarily their preferred music genre/ music video that they would usually watch. We also received similar feedback for older adults such as 40+. This feedback shows me and Lizzie that we have created an effective video that matches our preferred target audience and therefore I am pleased with this result.
We also used our questionnaire for our ancillary texts feedback these include; our tour poster, album cover and album back. These included questions such as what do you like about the products, do you think they link together/ show a narrative and a theme, what would you change, do you like the fonts and texts use etc. The feedback from our ancillary products helped us learn what we did well and some things that we could improve on. However there was very little negativity or comments about changes to these products, overall our audience seemed to really like our products and how well they linked together as a whole package. The only things that were commented on to change were mainly the image quality e.g. the cutting out of the image, however we are unable to change this due to the different steps taken on Photoshop, however if I was too do the digi pack again I would make sure to back up the different steps of the photo in case of any mistakes. We showed our digi pack to members within our target audience but also other ages and genders, the people that gave feedback that were not part of our target audience liked our digi pack, however similarly to the music video feedback they stated that they would not usually like artists of that genre/ type.
Recording Our feedback
I uploaded our music video to my Youtube account. This was to get feedback from a wider audience e.g. family, friends but also people from other areas globally (through Youtube). All of our feedback methods received extremely similar results and comments such as we have used a good amount of shots and costume/ make-up changes. Many have pointed out that our props link really well with the narrative of the song such as the dollars linked to opera dollars and our confident signs.
Examples of peoples comments
These comments where really useful because they helped me and Lizzie change aspects of our video that we didn't like for example one some shots the lip syncing wasn't in time and now we have been able to change this and everything is in sync. Overall the comments where positive and really good, people mostly commented on the mise en scene for example the costume and make-up and also the lighting effects. In addition somebody stated that the narrative was obvious through props, this is something that me and Lizzie wanted to put across to our audience and overall I am very happy with the positive feedback we have received therefore I have learnt from my feedback that our audience (especially our target audience) enjoyed our video, which also shows me and Lizzie how we met our target audience.
Due to me and Lizzie having a group chat for the planning of our filming with other group members, we also sent the link to our video and ancillary products on the chat, overall all the girls commented very positively about the products, this shows us that we have met our target audience due to this chat involving people within the age and gender group of our target audience.
