Completed Digi Pack

Magazine Advert for Album and Tour

When creating our tour poster for the digi pack, we followed the digi pack plan for example we placed the image, the tour name and group name in our chosen areas, however we have changed some areas of the poster for example the tour dates, I think that the dates being listed and the main dates in bold looks more effective than 3 main dates. I also thought of the idea to include Twitter, Facebook and Instagram profiles onto the poster, this is to give different forms of social media for True Blue's fans to follow them on. It was also very important to include the time, date and further ticket information at the bottom of the page.

I really like the effect of the poster, it is bold and eye catching and looks professional. This is exactly how I wanted to portray True Blue as artists/ a girl group. We had many photos to chose from, I chose this photo because I like how they are all posing in different ways, it shows the groups individual personalities but also how they look great together. When taking this photo me and Lizzie made sure that they were all wearing certain colours; red, white and blue which has been our initial theme from the start. We also incorporated this colour theme into the music video and other digi pack pieces to show continuity. The colours represent an American theme due to the narrative of our chosen song being based around America due to words such as Opera Dollars and I pledge Allegiance. It is also very clear that this is an on-going theme throughout all of mine and Lizzie's work. I feel like the group name 'True Blue' looks eye catching and different, I added a glittery/ layered effect to the font which makes it stand out. In addition I made the font blue because it represents the name of the group True BLUE. Overall I am very happy with finished tour poster and feel as if it suits our target audience of 13- 24 year olds (mostly female). This is because the poster shows the fun and boldness that our girl group represent. If I was able to re-do this poster I would change/ make the cutting out of the photograph better quality due to the hand of the person on the right being cut of the page, it was also quite time consuming to erase the background of the photo on Photoshop, however I am still quite happy with the outcome of the photo. We also stated that the album is available on ITunes and has already been released, this advertises confident the album.
Album Cover

Similar to the tour poster, we have used the same colour theme, however with a different image and added details such as the signatures. Instead of writing the title of the album 'Confident' we had the girls hold up confident signs, we got inspiration for this from the Fifth Harmony's video to BO$$ and also the tour posters/ cd covers to The Saturdays Headline's single. I think this makes the album cover look unique and more interesting. After feedback from others many people questioned why the True Blue name wasn't the colour blue similar to the Tour Poster, we did this because we wanted a similar colour theme throughout the digi pack but to make each piece different, I preferred the background colour to be blue, therefore we could not have blue font otherwise it would not be clear. I feel like a blue background makes the image stand out more due to their black clothing and confident signs and it also makes the group name in red look bolder. However, if I was able to do the album cover again I would change the quality of the image and the cutting out of the image (similar to the tour poster). It was quite challenging cutting out this image due to the background of the original image e.g. the shadows and the darkness of the image. On the other hand, I feel as if the individual signatures/ names make up for this, it makes the album cover stand out. I feel like the fan base/ target audience would be able to connect to individual members of True Blue which is the way me and Lizzie wanted to portray them as artists.

Album Back
Finally, me and Lizzie created an album back to complete the digi pack. We included everything that you would find in a real album back to make it look professional for example the song names, the barcode, the record label, the small print and the side label. Originally we weren't going to have an image on the back, however when on Photoshop creating the tour poster, I discovered the different effects and fill's/ layers you can add to images and discovered the silhouette type image and therefore added it to the album back, this has created a very big link between all of our products due to it being the same image from the tour poster and also representing a shadow/ figure which is something we have used in the music video with different lighting effects. I like this theme because it fits in with our target audience and also represents the song names e.g. style and confident (things we wanted to portray our artists as). We included our own logo for G&L Records and also added this information in the side label along with the album name and group name which makes a clear link between all products. If I was to do the album back again I would make sure to include all areas of the image e.g. the arm on the right hand side of the image has been cut away due to the previous editing on the tour poster.

Inside Album

Me and Lizzie also created the inside of our album 'confident'. We created this on Photoshop using the photographs taken on filming days. We decided to use different clothing to the cover and back of the album and poster, this was because we especially liked the lighting and quality of the photos, they look professional and effective. We used lyrics from the song 'Boss' in the top left hand corner, when researching I found that this was a typical convention of album insides from other celebrities for example Lana Del Rey and Kesha. We also used the effect of the album 'insert' (the area where you put the CD/ disk). Overall, I am very pleased with the final outcome of the inside and feel as if it suits our target audience due to the bright colours and props (balloons) that have also been used in the music video creating a visual link between our products.
